Photo Jigsaw: Family Puzzles

Last updated — 28 June 2026

Photo Jigsaw: Family Puzzles ("the app", "we", "us") is published by BTH. This policy explains how the app handles your data. In short: the app is built to be private by design — it works offline, needs no account, and your photos never leave your device. The only information that leaves your device is anonymous usage analytics, non-personalised advertising for free users, and the data needed to process optional in-app purchases.

Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, or location.
  • No account, sign-in, or registration is required to use the app.
  • We never upload, transmit, or store your photos. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use the advertising identifier for tracking.

Your photos stay on your device

When you create a puzzle, the app accesses the photo you choose and cuts it into pieces entirely on your device. Cropped copies may be cached in the app's private storage so you can resume a puzzle. Your photos and their contents are never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and are used only to make your puzzle. They are removed when you delete the app.

Information stored only on your device

Your puzzles, progress, daily streak, statistics, and settings are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to us, and is permanently removed when you uninstall the app.

Anonymous usage analytics

We use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. We attach a random identifier generated on your device that is not derived from any device or personal identifier and does not identify you. We record product events such as starting and completing a puzzle (piece count, duration, whether it was the daily puzzle), viewing the upgrade screen, completing a purchase, and watching a rewarded ad, along with coarse, non-identifying device and diagnostic information. We never send your photos, their contents, file names, any text you enter, or any personal identifiers. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.

The anonymous profile may include a few non-identifying properties, such as your subscription status (free or premium, and which plan) and whether you have enabled notifications or photo access. We also use PostHog for remote configuration (feature flags) to decide which features or promotions to show in the app — this is evaluated against the same anonymous identifier and does not collect any additional data about you.

Advertising (free version only)

Free users may see ads served by Google AdMob. Ads are configured as non-personalised: we do not use the advertising identifier for tracking and we do not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt. To serve a non-personalised ad, AdMob still receives standard, device-level signals in the ad request. Premium users see no ads. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Purchases

If you buy a subscription or the lifetime upgrade, the payment is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and entitlements are managed through our purchases provider, RevenueCat, Inc. To enable and restore purchases, RevenueCat processes:

  • an anonymous app-user identifier generated on your device;
  • purchase and transaction details and your subscription status;
  • basic device and platform information needed to validate the purchase.

This information is used solely to deliver and restore your purchases and premium access. It is never used for advertising. RevenueCat acts as our data processor — see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy. Your actual payment details (card, billing information) are handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see or store them.

Notifications

With your permission, the app can show an optional local daily reminder that your puzzle is ready. These notifications are scheduled on your device only. No notification server is used and no data is sent to us. You can turn them off in the app's Settings or in your device settings.

Children

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.

Your rights

Because your puzzles and photos are stored only on your device, you can erase them at any time by deleting the app. For purchase-related data held by RevenueCat, you may request access or deletion by contacting us. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK under the GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Our analytics and ads use only anonymous data and are not tied to your identity.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above will reflect any changes.
